Expectations
It is impossible to learn without a safe and nurturing learning environment. Please, be your best and strive to meet the expectations of Bridgeport Public schools by coming to school prepared and dressed in code. Remember, also, that creating a safe and nurturing learning environment means that students, faculty, and must diligently work to keep exterior doors closed at all times, refrain from wearing hoodies and hats to school and ensure that cell phones are silent and out of sight. Finally, be aware that it is impossible to learn if you do not come to school or participate actively in classroom activities.
EngageScholars learn through active listening and participation. Scholars are expected to engage with the texts, each other and the teacher.

RespectScholars are not only learning grammar and literature, they are learning to be productive members of society. We must all show respect through being attentive to each other's words and accepting of each other's ideas. We must also respect ourselves by working to our full potential and showing pride in our work.
|
EffortScholars are not expected to be perfect, however they are expected to embrace their mistakes as opportunities to grow. Scholars must put forth their best efforts to come to class prepared, meet deadlines, engage appropriately and respectfully with their peers and teacher and seek out help when necessary.

Collabortaion
Adora Svitak brilliantly shares her views on the important of reciprocal learning between adults and children. This philosophy that adults must provide opportunities for "children to blow them away" is expected and embraced in our classroom.
